We're recruiting for a Laboratory Support Assistant to join a dedicated team, playing a vital role in the smooth operation of their analytical laboratory on a temporary basis until the 2nd of December 2025.

Responsibilities:

You will provide hands-on assistance to support the operation and goals of the laboratory by supporting experiments and applying your understanding under technical guidance.

How you will contribute

You will support a range of analyses, prepare and maintain standard equipment and chemicals required for the running of an analytical laboratory, support laboratory activities while ensuring compliance with the appropriate internal and external standards, and capture and report data with technical rigour and accuracy. To succeed in this role, you will maintain a clean, tidy, and safe working environment and be proficient in generic and specific software packages.

Additional Information:

This role will supplement the current working team, providing support in getting things prepped and ready in the lab and assisting analysts. This opportunity is ideal for individuals coming straight out of university with a science degree or from school with science A-levels, representing a fantastic first step into a microbiology environment. While previous work experience or a microbiology background is not essential as full training will be provided, candidates should be aware they will be working within a very strict environment. This temporary role could be a valuable stepping stone into a microbiology career and would suit someone at the start or near the end of their career looking for a fixed-term opportunity.
