Job title: Lapping Machine Operator

Location: Slough

Salary: £24,900 - £25,900

Hours: Monday to Thursday - 08:30 - 17:00 / Friday - 8:30 - 16:30 (+ Overtime available, with competitive rates)

• Work with a range of high-precision machinery, including lapping plates, polishing plates, laser machines, grit blasting, and spin rigs

Day To Day:

• Lapping and polishing components to achieve precise flatness and surface finish
• Hand lapping using specialised tools
• Masking and grooving Mating Rings using PC-operated masking machines and grit blasting
• Operating laser machines to create spiral grooves
• Inspecting parts using optical flats and interferometers
• Conducting spin testing of grooved Mating Ring

Role Requirements:

• A background in mechanical work - machining, engineering, or similar hands-on roles
• A keen eye for detail and precision
• Ability to use a PC for data entry and machine operation
• Strong teamwork and communication skills
