Lawyer - Childcare

Location: Town Hall based, with flexibility for remote working
Duration: August - October 2025 (initial 3 months, with possible extension)
Hours: Full-time, 37 hours per week
Rate: £60 per hour (Grade 9 equivalent)

We are seeking an experienced Childcare Lawyer to provide locum cover within a busy legal team. The role arises due to the departure of a team member, alongside current absences for maternity and sickness leave. You will play a key role in maintaining service delivery in this critical practice area.

• Manage a caseload of childcare matters, including care proceedings and related applications.

• Provide high-quality legal advice and representation in court.

• Work collaboratively with colleagues across the legal team to ensure continuity of service.

• Contribute to the effective handling of statutory and legislative responsibilities in childcare law.

• Qualified Solicitor, Barrister, or Chartered Legal Executive with relevant practising certificate.

• Demonstrable experience in childcare law, including advocacy.

• Strong case management and organisational skills.

• Ability to work under pressure with competing priorities.
