Lead Data Analyst - Local Government Children's Social Care

Location: West Midlands | Hybrid (1 day per week on-site)

Rate: £400 per day | Contract Length: 3 Months

Salt Recruitment's Local Government contract team is currently supporting a West Midlands-based Local Authority in their search for an experienced Lead Reporting and Data Analyst. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a crucial role in overseeing statutory reporting for Children's Social Care, ensuring data accuracy, and leading a team of three Data Analysts.

• Lead the design and maintenance of statutory and operational reporting for Children's Social Care
• Manage and mentor a team of three Data Analysts, ensuring high-quality data outputs
• Provide technical leadership in data warehousing, SQL scripting, and reporting
• Develop Power BI dashboards and SSRS reports to support operational decision-making
• Ensure data integrity and compliance with GDPR and other regulations
• Work closely with Children's Services, Business Systems Analysts (Mosaic), and other departments to align reporting with service needs
• Champion the use of agile methodologies within the team to improve efficiency

• Proven experience in statutory reporting for Children's Social Care
• Strong knowledge of data warehouse architecture and SQL scripting
• Hands-on experience with Power BI dashboards and SSRS reporting
• Familiarity with Children's Social Care case management systems (ideally Mosaic)
• Previous experience managing a team of Data Analysts or similar roles
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
• Ability to lead on BI and reporting solutions to drive service improvement

• Duration: 3-month initial contract (potential for extension)
• Location: Hybrid - West Midlands (1 day per week on-site)
• Rate: £400 per day (Inside IR35)
