Locum Lead Lawyer - Commercial/Corporate - Hybrid – Midlands Based Local Authority

Venn Group’s specialist legal team are seeking an experienced Locum Lead Lawyer to join a well-regarded Local Authority on a locum basis.

The Role:

Position: Principal Commercial Contracts Lawyer
Rate: £60 - £70 per hour Umbrella
Duration: Initial 3-month basis, with the potential for extension
Location: Hybrid, 1-2 office days per week
Hours: Full Time

Key Responsibilities:

• Providing strategic legal guidance on Commercial matters
• Negotiating and drafting high-level commercial agreements
• Collaborating with senior stakeholders across the council and external partners
• Managing colleagues and junior staff members

About You:

• Managerial experience
• Ability to attend the office 1-2 days per week
• A highly experienced Principal Commercial Lawyer
• Experience in local government or public sector work is highly desirable
