We are seeking a passionate and experienced Lead Primary Teacher for Literacy to play a pivotal role in raising standards and leading Literacy across the school.
This is an exciting opportunity for a driven professional who thrives on shaping curriculum, supporting colleagues, and leading Literacy teaching with impact.
The RoleAs Lead Primary Teacher for Literacy, you will:
Develop and deliver a Literacy Subject Leader Implementation Plan in line with the School Development Plan
Monitor teaching and learning using observations, book scrutinies, data analysis and pupil voice
Model best practice in Literacy and coach colleagues to strengthen teaching across the school
Lead CPD, INSETs and staff meetings with a focus on Literacy improvement
Analyse school data to inform planning and curriculum implementation
Report to governors and other stakeholders on attainment and progress in Literacy
Keep current with local and national developments in primary English education
Essential:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Proven track record of strong classroom practice, particularly in Literacy
Experience leading or supporting a subject area
Strong understanding of the National Curriculum for English
Excellent communication, organisation and leadership skills
Desirable:
Prior experience as a Literacy or English subject leader
Experience leading CPD or staff training
Awareness of current research and best practice in Literacy
A supportive, forward-thinking team and leadership structure
Well-behaved, enthusiastic pupils who love to learn
