Lead Solution Architect - Insurance, Azure DevOps, Cosmos

Up to £1000 per day (Inside IR35)

London / South (Hybrid - 1/2 days per week onsite)

6 Months initial

My client is an instantly recognisable Insurance firm who urgently require a high calibre Lead Solution Architect with excellent leadership, coaching and mentoring skills, along with a strong technical background covering Azure, Azure DevOps, Terraform (IaC), Cosmos / SQL Server / Oracle / Snowflake, .Net web applications and an understanding of DevSecOps ways of working.

Key Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Lead Solution Architect, with demonstrable experience in the Industry
• Excellent leadership, coaching and mentoring skills
• Strong technical background with strong knowledge of the Automation of repeatable processes using a variety of tools including Azure DevOps
• Previous experience of managing large, complex Programmes of work across multiple delivery teams with varying technologies in addition to managing resources
• Strong knowledge of topics such as Insurance Products, Claims and Settlements etc
• Event Driven Architectures / Microservices experience, spanning Databases (SQL Server / Oracle / Snowflake / Cosmos - preferred), Cloud (Azure / GCP / Terraform / ARM), rule engines (InRule) and .NET web applications / services
• Ability to dive into code, understand the code, and make recommendations / changes to resolve subsequent issues
• Good understanding of common security vulnerabilities, including DevSecOps ways of working (CheckMarx would be ideal)
• Ability to create and present HLDs as well as LLDs
• Capability to hold and navigate detailed technical conversations across the full stack of engineering (data, integration, middleware, front end) and infrastructure including "on-prem" and modern cloud (Azure / GCP) technologies
• Flexible approach to hybrid working
• Exceptional communication skills and style

• Experience of working within Agile and Waterfall delivery methodologies
• Awareness of industry best practice and new and upcoming technology trends
• Experience of working in a matrix managed environment, with mixed teams including outsourced suppliers / 3rd parties / vendors
• Strong understanding of Terraform (IaC)
