Learning Mentor

Are you passionate about working with children? Do you have a good understanding of Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH)? If so, we want to hear from you!

Horizon Teachers are seeking a Learning Mentor for a Primary School located in Brent, helping them adapt into the classroom and providing both academic and emotional support.

A fun fact about the school:
• They offer opportunities to experience many different places both locally and further across the country. They work with an author every year and you could experience visiting a West End theatre at least twice, have regular instrumental sessions and much, much more.

Key Responsibilities:
• Implement strategies and support learners in self-esteem and confidence-building activities.
• Inspire and motivate learners and help to promote positive behaviour.
• Listen to learners and help them resolve a range of issues that are creating barriers to their learning.

What we are looking for:
• Excellent interactive and communication skills.
• Must have experience working in schools with students with SEMH across KS2.
• Strong ability to build relationships and promote positive behaviour.
