Legal Secretary

I'm currently recruiting for a well established law firm based in Basingstoke who is recruitment for Legal Secretary / Legal Assistant to join there fast paced and supportive team, this position is a 9 - 12 month maternity cover and will be supporting The Head of Department (Litigation) and the Associate Solicitor - Employment. Daily duties will include -

• Providing secretarial assistance to fee earners, to enable them to work efficiently. This includes a wide range of tasks, in particular;
• preparing documents and correspondence, including preparing mail and enclosures.
• typing letters and other legal documents (utilising dictation software)
• photocopying and filing;
• opening and closing matter files;
• handling telephone and other queries from clients and others including taking initial enquiries.
• taking telephone messages; and
• making appointments and managing diaries.
• General support for other Departments when necessary (eg in the event of sickness, absence on holiday cover or pressure of work)
• Post cover where necessary
• Liaising with Office Administrator regarding photocopying requirements and, where necessary (ie due to absence or workload of Office Junior) to carry out photocopying
• Working in tandem with other staff in the Department
• Reception cover where necessary
• Any other duties as reasonably directed by the Directors
