LEVEL 2 TEACHING ASSISTANT

Job Title: Level 2 Teaching Assistant - SEN School

Are you a passionate and dedicated Teaching Assistant with experience or interest in working with children with special educational needs? We are looking for a Level 2 Teaching Assistant to join our warm and welcoming SEN school community in Great Barr.

About the Role:

As a Level 2 Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the learning and development of pupils with a range of special educational needs, including autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and more. Working closely with class teachers, SENCOs, and other support staff, you will help to create a safe, supportive and engaging learning environment for all students.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide tailored support to individual students or small groups
• Assist with the implementation of individual education plans (IEPs)
• Support teaching staff in the preparation of classroom materials and activities
• Promote positive behaviour and emotional regulation strategies
• Encourage independence and social development in pupils
• Monitor and record pupil progress and communicate effectively with the wider team

Requirements:

• Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent)
• Experience working with children, ideally in an SEN setting
• A patient, caring, and flexible approach to support
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children

Desirable but not essential: Experience working with children with ASD, MLD, SLCN, or SEMH needs.
