Mainstream Primary School Settings

We are currently recruiting Level 3 Qualified Teaching Assistants with strong SEN experience to support a range of mainstream Primary schools across North Birmingham. These roles are ideal for individuals passionate about inclusive education and confident in supporting pupils with a variety of additional needs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN) including ASC, ADHD, EAL, and complex learning needs
• Providing 1:1 and small group support to help pupils access the curriculum
• Assisting with personal care where required
• Using Makaton or other communication strategies to support non-verbal pupils
• Collaborating with teachers and SENCOs to implement tailored learning plans

Essential Requirements:

• Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification
• Proven experience working with children with SEN, particularly in primary or specialist settings
• Knowledge or training in:
• Makaton or other communication aids
• Personal care and hygiene support
• EAL (English as an Additional Language)
• Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)
  and ADHD
• A nurturing, patient, and adaptable approach to supporting children's development
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
