Litter Picker

• Pay Rate: £12.85 per hour paye

• Job Type: Full-time, Temporary (3 months)

Rochdale Council are looking for a dedicated Litter Picker to join our team for a three-month period. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working outdoors in all weather conditions and is interested in grounds maintenance and horticulture. Training and personal protective equipment (PPE) will be provided to the successful applicant.

• Carry out general gardening and grounds maintenance duties across council green spaces.
• Operate various gardening equipment including pedestrian, hand-held, and ride-on machines for tasks such as grass cutting.
• Perform strimming, hedge trimming, shrub maintenance, and edging.
• Engage in weed removal and general street cleansing.
• Litter pick areas as required and empty litter bins.

• Physical fitness and reliability.
• Willingness to learn about all aspects of horticulture.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Flexibility to work in different parts of the borough and to work overtime on an ad-hoc basis as needed.
• A full and clean driving licence is desirable but not essential.
• Qualifications in Horticulture (NVQ, City & Guilds or equivalent) are preferred but not mandatory.
• Experience in grounds maintenance is advantageous.
• Pesticides application Certificate PA1 & PA6 is desirable.

• Comprehensive training and provision of necessary PPE.
