Job Description - Locality Officer

Locality Officer

Location: Exeter
Rate: £22 Umbrella P/H

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a proactive and community-focused Locality Officer to join a forward-thinking housing provider. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in tenancy and neighbourhood management, who thrives on making a difference within local communities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver high-quality, tenure-blind housing services across a designated locality.

  • Act as a visible and trusted point of contact for residents, delivering timely and effective outcomes.

  • Work collaboratively with internal teams and external partners to address customer needs.

  • Maintain and improve homes, estates, and communal areas, ensuring residents feel proud of their neighbourhoods.

  • Use customer feedback and data insights to shape service delivery and drive continuous improvement.

  • Foster strong relationships with local stakeholders, including Local Authorities, to enhance community outcomes.

  • Ensure services comply fully with legislative, regulatory, and organisational standards.

  • Champion community engagement through a digital presence and on-the-ground involvement.

  • Contribute to budget management and support compliance around financial regulations.

Requirements:
  • Proven experience in delivering tenancy, leasehold, or neighbourhood management services.

  • Excellent knowledge of housing-related legislation and best practice.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, able to influence, resolve issues, and build trust.

  • Experience working with vulnerable customers and managing complex cases in partnership with support agencies.

  • Confident in using digital systems and maintaining accurate records.

  • Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.

  • A collaborative team player with a commitment to customer-focused service delivery.

  • Professional housing qualification (e.g. CIH) desirable but not essential.
