Senior Social Worker - Locality Team - Normanton (Wakefield Council)

Make a real difference in the lives of adults in the Normanton community.

Wakefield Council is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Social Worker to join our Locality Team based in Normanton. This is a rewarding opportunity to provide high-quality support to vulnerable adults within a specific geographical area.

About the Role:

Conduct comprehensive needs assessments and develop person-centered care plans for adults within the Normanton locality.
Work collaboratively with individuals, families, carers, and other agencies to coordinate services and ensure holistic support.
Advocate for the rights and needs of adults within your caseload, promoting their independence and well-being.
Supervise and mentor junior social workers, providing guidance and support within the team.
Manage a diverse caseload, balancing competing priorities and ensuring timely interventions.
Contribute to the ongoing development and improvement of services within the Normanton Locality.


Requirements:

Registered with Social Care England.
Minimum 3 years' post-qualification experience as a qualified Social Worker. Experience working within a locality team is desirable.
Excellent assessment, communication, and case management skills.
Strong understanding of relevant legislation and policies relating to adult social care.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Commitment to person-centered practice and ethical standards.
