Locum Commercial Property Solicitor – Remote – Up to £60 per hour (umbrella) – 3+ months - Midlands

Venn Group’s specialist legal team are currently working with a Local Authority who are seeking an experienced Locum Commercial Property Solicitor to advise on large strategic projects.

Role Overview:

Position: Locum Commercial Property Solicitor

Location: Remote working

Contract Length: Initial 3 months with the possibility for extension

Rate: Up to £60 per hour umbrella

Key Responsibilities:

• Advising on large strategic projects, new schools, and property portfolio primarily in relation to the school estate, reporting to the Director of Children’s Services
• Advising on the educational aspects of the S106 agreement, CPO, and strategic planning issues, in addition to complex site assembly, land acquisition, subsidy control, and wider public infrastructure to allow the Council to facilitate new school development and exercise good governance
• Lead on the completion of Academy conversions and associated property work facilitating a streamlined process.
• Support Senior Leadership in the administration of the workstream across the Council
• Advise on the expiry process in relation to the Council’s PFI schools, including providing strategic advice to manage efficiently, alongside liaising with the wider project team, contract review arrangements and associated work
• Provide general advice on lease licences and easements and other commercial property matters as required

Requirements:

• Qualified Solicitor
• Public Sector experience is essential
• Ability to work independently, providing expert legal advice
