Locum Housing Disrepair Lawyer – 3 months + - Predominantly Remote Working – Full Time – Up to £50 per hour Umbrella – Midlands

Position: Locum Housing Disrepair Lawyer

Organisation: Midlands based Local Authority

Duration: 3 months + strong likelihood of extension agreed thereafter

Working Pattern: Full-Time

Working Arrangement: Predominantly Remote Working, any Court/Office attendance would be advantageous to an application

Hourly Rate: Up to £50 per hour Umbrella

The ideal candidate will have prior experience working within a Local Authority and can demonstrate knowledge of Housing Litigation matters, with a focus on Disrepair matters especially section 11 work.

Duties may include:

• Undertake all aspects of legal work relating to Housing Disrepair
• Manage Housing Disrepair cases at all stages of Pre-Litigation/Litigation
• Ensure compliance with the Housing Disrepair Pre-Action Protocol
• Represent the Council in court and Conduct advocacy where appropriate
• Negotiate and draft complex and sensitive agreements and documents in the area of Housing Disrepair and provide clear case strategy on cases
• Assess evidence in relation to Housing disrepair matters and determine the likely prospects of success and the public interest in prosecuting matters
