LOCUM Principal Biochemist - Band 8 - Sunderland - Long-Term Contract

Are you an experienced Principal Biochemist looking for a high-level locum opportunity? We are currently recruiting for a Band 8 Biochemist to join the forward-thinking Pathology Department at a leading NHS trust in Sunderland.

• Job Title: Principal Biochemist – Band 8

• Specialty: Biochemistry

• Location: Sunderland

• Start Date: ASAP

• Working Pattern: Monday – Friday, 08:30 – 15:00

• Hours: 32.5 to 37.5 hours per week (dependent on rate)

• Contract Type: Locum (until August 2025)

• HCPC registration as a Principal Biochemist or Biomedical Scientist

• FRCPath Part 1 and Module 2 Part 1 passed

• Proven ability to independently authorise results across the full biochemistry repertoire

• Skilled in providing expert clinical and technical guidance to both lab staff and healthcare professionals

• Minimum of 32.5 working hours per week

• Flexible working hours (32.5–37.5 per week)

• Long-term contract running until August 2025
