Locum Principal Planning Lawyer and Legal Services Manager – Full Time – Hybrid – 3-6+ months – Midlands

Venn Group’ specialist legal team are currently working with a well-established Local Authority in the Midlands who are seeking an experienced Principal Planning Lawyer and Legal Services Manager to join the team on an interim basis.

The Role:

• Position: Principal Planning Lawyer and Legal Services Manager
• Working Arrangement: Full Time
• Rate: DOE
• Duration: 3-6 months with the possibility for extension
• Onsite Requirement: Hybrid, 2-3 office days per week required

Key Responsibilities:

• Overseeing the legal services in planning, litigation, governance, and regulatory affairs
• Managing a team of 7 staff members including Solicitors and Legal Administrators
• Providing strategic legal advice to various colleagues within the Council alongside supporting the Monitoring Officer on a variety of mattets
• Attending committees as required

About You:

• An experienced Principal Planning Solicitor
• Experience within Legal Services management
• Ability to attend the office as required
• Strong management and interpersonal skills
