Locum Property Lawyer

Locum Residential Property Lawyer – South West Local Authority – £300 per day via Umbrella

Venn Group’s specialist public sector legal team is assisting a South West Local Authority which is looking to appoint a Property Lawyer on a locum basis.

This is a full time position for an initial duration of 8 months. Remote working is available, however the successful candidate will be expected to attend on-site meetings as and when required. It would best suit a qualified Lawyer (Solicitor, Barrister or Fellow of CILEx) with Local Authority experience.

The successful candidate will be able to oversee and manage the residential acquisition programme, uncluding both freehold and leasehold applications, on behalf of the Council with limited supervision. Experience and comfort with the full conveyancing process is essential as the postholder will be expected to deal with the full conveyancing process from initial contract to registration at the Land Registry.

Other duties and responsibilities may include:

• Managing and advising on the development, sale, lease, and other transactions involving public sector land holdings
• Ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and governance standards
• Offering strategic and practical advice to clients on property matters

A daily umbrella rate of £300 is offered for this role.
