Locum Team Manager - Family Safeguarding

Location: Guildford - South West Locality
Office: St Francis Centre, Southway, Guildford, Surrey, GU2 8WZ
Rate: £45.82 per hour
Hours: 36 per week
Contract: 9-month locum secondment

We're working in partnership with Surrey County Council to recruit an experienced Locum Team Manager for a 9-month secondment within the Family Safeguarding service, based at the Guildford office in the South Locality.

You'll be leading a motivated, well-supported team delivering relationship-based social work through the Family Safeguarding model - a multi-agency, trauma-informed approach that puts children and families at the heart of decision-making.

What you'll be doing:

• Providing leadership and supervision to a team of social workers within the Family Safeguarding service

• Managing workloads and ensuring high-quality, consistent practice aligned with Surrey County Council policies

• Supporting staff development through reflective supervision and CPD

• Collaborating across multi-agency teams to improve outcomes for children and families

• Monitoring performance and contributing to service improvement initiatives

• Ensuring statutory compliance and contributing to court proceedings when required

To be considered, you must:

• Have significant post-qualification experience, including at least two years in a team management or leadership role within Children's Services

• Be Social Work England registered with a recognised Social Work qualification

• Not be permanently employed by another South East Local Authority (due to MOU restrictions)
