Management Accountant - 12 month FTC

Job Opportunity: Management Accountant (Fixed-Term, Maternity Cover)
Location: Cambridge (Hybrid working available)
Contract: 12 months, Full-Time
Salary: Up to £42,000 per annum (depending on experience)
Start Date: September 2025 or earlier

Our client in Cambridge is seeking a qualified and experienced management accountant to join its Finance Department on a fixed-term basis to cover maternity leave. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a dynamic and supportive environment within a historic yet forward-thinking organization.

• Prepare monthly management accounts and variance reports.
• Lead the annual budget setting process and support budget holders.
• Manage payroll reconciliations, pension schedules, and journal entries.
• Support the year-end audit process and statutory accounts preparation.
• Oversee financial transactions related to catering, conferencing, and investment properties.
• Contribute to the implementation of a new finance system.

Essential:

• Qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA or equivalent) or QBE with strong experience.
• Proven experience in management accounting and budgeting.
• Strong analytical skills and high proficiency in Excel and accounting software.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
