Management Accountant

Position: Management Accountant
Rate: £40 - £45 per hour via Umbrella
Location: Near Chester – 80% On-site
Contract: 9-month contract (subject to extension)
Working Hours: 4.5-day week

Key Responsibilities

• Support central controlling teams in driving the annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting processes across all business units, ensuring alignment with overall financial objectives
• Collaborate closely with local business and operational managers to identify and define improvement projects for inclusion in budget assumption packs. Ensure accurate financial data (sizing, business case, ROI) supports decision-making
• Provide timely and robust financial reporting to both local and central operational/controlling teams, ensuring transparency of performance versus targets and proactive identification of financial risks
• Challenge and advise operational teams to improve financial performance, supporting management in achieving targets through recommendations, improvement initiatives, and risk mitigation
• Evaluate and provide financial insight into business cases, capital investment proposals, and operational performance improvement projects, ensuring assumptions are sound and financially justified
• Conduct financial controlling across key cost areas, including Recurring Costs, Inventory, Non-Recurring Costs, and Capex for Jigs/Tools (as required)

Essential Requirements

• Qualified Accountant preferred with minimum 2 years PQE in a manufacturing or commercial environment.
• CIMA qualification (or equivalent).
• Experience working with SAP or similar financial reporting/ERP systems.
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to work within a dynamic, collaborative team environment.
• A proactive and positive mindset, with a commitment to continuous improvement and financial excellence.
