Job Description - Management Accountant


Interim Management Accountant | £60,000 | Hybrid (3 days office / 2 WFH) | Manchester City Centre | 6-Month Contract (Potential to go Permanent)
A leading multinational organisation based in Manchester City Centre is looking for a Qualified Interim Management Accountant to join their finance team on an initial 6-month contract. There is a genuine opportunity for the role to become permanent for the right candidate, making this a great option for someone seeking long-term prospects after proving their impact.
This role would suit a hands-on, commercially minded accountant who enjoys working in a fast-paced, international environment. You'll be part of a collaborative finance function and will play a key role in providing insightful financial analysis to support decision-making.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Production of monthly management accounts for multiple entities

  • Variance analysis and commentary against budget and forecast

  • Business partnering with operational and commercial teams to drive performance

  • Preparation and posting of accruals, prepayments, and journals

  • Support month-end and year-end close processes

  • Assist with budgeting and forecasting cycles

  • Balance sheet reconciliations and review of key control accounts

  • Provide support for internal and external audit requirements

  • Identify opportunities to improve financial processes and systems

  • Ad-hoc analysis and reporting to support business initiatives


Ideal Candidate Profile:


  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA)

  • Experience in a fast-paced, complex organisation - ideally with multinational exposure

  • Strong analytical and Excel skills

  • Confident communicator with the ability to influence and challenge stakeholders

  • Self-starter with a proactive attitude and keen attention to detail

  • Experience with ERP systems (e.g. SAP, Oracle, or similar) is advantageous


Contract Details:


  • Location: Manchester City Centre

  • Working Pattern: Hybrid - 3 days in the office, 2 days from home

  • Contract Length: 6 months (potential to go permanent)

  • Salary: Up to £60,000 (pro-rata)
