We are looking for a talented and driven Management Accountant to join our client based at their Head Office in Wigan. This is a fantastic opportunity for a qualified/part qualified accounting professional to play a key role in shaping our financial reporting and processes. Reporting directly to the Finance Director, you’ll be instrumental in the day-to-day management of transactional finance and month-end reporting, while also helping drive improvements and efficiencies across our finance function. This is a progressive role with opportunities to become Financial Controller in the future.

The role:

• Manage month-end and year-end close processes to ensure accurate, timely reporting.
• Prepare monthly consolidated management accounts with variance analysis and commentary.
• Support the annual audit process and prepare statutory accounts under FRS 102.
• Conduct regular balance sheet reconciliations and reviews.

• Prepare and post accruals, prepayments, and monthly journals.
• Maintain the fixed asset register and post depreciation.
• Ensure accurate financial coding across all postings.

• Oversee AP processes, validate invoices and expenses, and manage supplier payments.

• Prepare and submit VAT and GST returns in line with relevant regulations.

• Drive improvements in financial processes and maintain strong financial controls.

Essential Skills & Experience

• Fully or part qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ACA or equivalent).
• Proven experience preparing management accounts
• Advanced Excel skills
• Solid understanding of financial controls and consolidations.
