Management Accountant

Job Title: Interim Management Accountant
Duration: 6-Month Contract (with potential extension/permanent role)
Reporting To: Financial Controller

Are you a detail-oriented finance professional with a passion for driving business performance? We’re looking for a Management Accountant to join our dynamic finance team and play a key role in supporting strategic decision-making across the business.

As a Management Accountant, you’ll be responsible for a wide range of accounting tasks including budgeting, forecasting, balance sheet reconciliations, VAT returns, and overseeing both purchase and sales ledgers. You’ll be a key contributor to the monthly management accounts and a trusted partner to stakeholders across the business.

• Prepare monthly management accounts for subsidiary entities
• Maintain balance sheet reconciliations to audit-ready standards
• Support overhead cost control and variance analysis
• Oversee team tasks including prepayments, accruals, and inter-company schedules
• Manage monthly cashflow reconciliations and forecast applications
• Perform credit control duties and chase retention/debtor payments
• Review VAT returns for subsidiary companies
• Assist with year-end procedures and annual audits
• Contribute to annual budgets and forecasts aligned with strategic goals
• Collaborate with project managers to review site performance and cost tracking
• Provide ad hoc financial analysis to support the Financial Controller

• Part-Qualified or QBE (CIMA/ACCA/ACA or equivalent)
• 3–5 years’ experience in a finance role
• Proficient in Sage 200, Sage 50, or similar accounting software
• Experience in the construction industry, including CIS and reverse charge VAT
• Strong Excel and Microsoft 365 skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• High attention to detail and strong analytical mindset
• Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines
• Team player with a proactive and collaborative approach
