Management Accountant - Education Sector

Are you an experienced Management Accountant with a background in the education sector? Do you thrive in fast-paced environments where you can hit the ground running with minimal handover?

We’re working with a well-respected education trust that urgently needs a Management Accountant to join their team. This is a fantastic opportunity to make an immediate impact, supporting both the Trust and its academies.

Reporting to the Finance Director, you’ll be pivotal in managing the day-to-day financial operations of the Trust and delivering timely, accurate management accounts.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare monthly management accounts, budgets, forecasts, and statutory accounts

• Support financial planning and reporting across the Trust

• Work with finance officers to maintain ledgers, asset registers, and ensure balance sheet reconciliations

• Support procurement, cost-saving initiatives, tenders, and contract management

• Assist budget holders with financial management and provide detailed reporting

• Line management of Finance Officers, supporting their development

• Ensure strong governance, internal controls, and regulatory compliance

• Safeguard the welfare of students across the Trust

Experience working in school or education finance is essential
Strong management accounting and financial reporting skills
Confident handling payroll and understanding teachers' pensions
Self-starter who can work with minimal supervision
Ability to support a busy finance team without extensive training

This role offers flexibility with hourly or day rates available and part-time options will be considered. You will need to be able to start immediately.
