Management Accountant (Fixed Term Contract 12 months)

Working as a Management Accountant, reporting to the Financial Controller based in Hove, you will be responsible for production and co-ordination of monthly entity management accounts and supporting the wider finance team. Supporting the business in maximizing profitability and efficiency realisation.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Production of monthly management accounts (P&L, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow) mainly using Sage Intact along with a number of legacy systems.
• Co-ordination of management accounting at other group locations in order to meet monthly timetables.
• Balance sheet reconciliations e.g. fixed assets, prepayments and accruals.
• Processing month end journals e.g. prepayments, accruals and depreciation.
• Assist in creating strategic business plans and forecasts.
• Liaise with auditors and support internal audits.
• Monitor financial performance and report findings to management.
• Ensure compliance with statutory requirements and financial procedures.
• Other ad hoc tasks within the finance team.

Person Specification

Qualifications

• ACCA/CIMA part qualified, although QBE may be considered.
• Advanced Excel skills, Microsoft Office (essential) and Sage Intact (preferable).

Knowledge and experience

• Excellent technical accounting knowledge and strong stakeholder management skills.
• Experience within a changing and fast-moving finance team.
• Good understanding of management accounting principles and reconciliations.
• Ability to learn new processes and systems quickly and respond to moving deadlines.
• Attention to detail and methodical approach to tasks.
• Good interpersonal skills and the ability to engage both face-to-face and remotely with people across the business.
• Ability to translate complex data into easy to understand messages.
