The team sits within Organisational Development and has a broad remit, responsible for all aspects of Learning and Leadership Development. This involves a range of interventions: from a series of experiential blended leadership programmes, to 'just in time’ digital learning courses as well as an extensive digital mandatory training offer. The team provides an internal and external coaching service and plays a key role in enabling an integrated and joined up organisation by coordinating a hugely successful network of over 10 Communities of Practice and a series of leadership alumni networks.
The purpose of the role is to shape, manage, design and deliver a range of blended learning management development initiatives including on demand digital content, virtual and in-person workshops.
The postholder will have significant experience of delivering management development initiatives and the full learning and development cycle from analysis and diagnosis through to review and evaluation.
The role reports to the Senior OD Consultant (LLD) - Partnering, with a dotted line to the Senior OD Consultant (Digital & Operations) and works closely with HR colleagues and senior stakeholders across to build manager capability consistently across academic, professional services and research management populations.
Key duties and responsibilities
• Use data to identify development needs for aspiring managers, new line managers and current managers to ensure our management development initiatives are designed to address our key organisational challenges
• Create, curate, design and deliver management development interventions to enhance the capability of managers, utilising a broad range of approaches and delivery methodology.
• Design innovative and flexible development solutions that utilise face to face, digital and outsourced solutions, where appropriate, to ensure an inclusive and accessible offer is available.
• Utilise coaching, mentoring and action learning sets as part of the management development offer to provide a holistic development offer.
• Build and maintain good working relationships across OD and share knowledge and expertise to ensure, making sure insights to embed insights within programmes and interventions.
• Work closely with key stakeholders, HR Business Partners, EDI, and Research Cultureto understand the expectations and responsibilities of line managers to ensure solutions are fit for purpose.
• Where required, manage engagement with external delivery partners from procurement through to design and delivery.
• Work with the OD Talent Team to maximize the use of leadership and management apprenticeship opportunities.
• Work with a range of Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to ensure materials and communications are inclusive and meet UCL’s accessibility requirements.
• Work with the OD Officers to ensure all administration for delivery is completed on time and all records for attendance and evaluation are up to date.
• Evaluate the impact of Management Development interventions using both qualitative and quantitative measures by benchmarking, setting targets
Qualifications, experience and knowledge

Experience of the full Learning and Development cycle including needs analysis, design, delivery and evaluation and applied to management development.
Essential
Significant experience of delivering large scale management development programmes/interventions.

Significant experience of being responsible for the end-to-end delivery of quality blended management development initiatives to time and specification in both a digital and face-to-face context.

Experience of working in a consultative or partner approach with internal clients in large complex organisations to identify development needs and in developing appropriate, impactful management development interventions.

An understanding of the different development needs of emerging, established and senior managers and leaders.

An understanding of issues relating to equity, diversity and inclusivity in the workplace, with experience of implementing impactful responses to support under-representation.

Experience of developing management / leadership development interventions for academics or highly technical specialists.
