Manual Lathe Setter Operator

We are seeking a skilled Manual Lathe Setter Operator to join our clients team on a temporary basis expected to be at least until the end of the year. This role is crucial for producing high-quality components within the various industries they operate in. The successful candidate will be responsible for producing components to drawing tolerances and quality specifications, applying logical machining processes to achieve production efficiency and targets.

• Read and understand engineering drawings to ensure accurate production.
• Select the correct tooling and holding devices from the tool sheets for manufacturing.
• Prove out proven and unproven programs, ensuring adherence to specifications.
• Perform first-off inspections and maintain high standards of quality.
• Complete feedback tickets of set and run times to track and optimize production processes.
• Maintain production targets and adhere to company policies and procedures.
• Uphold Lean principles in all manufacturing processes.
• Ensure tooling and gauging are maintained to a high quality.
• Take responsibility for your own safety and the safety of others by adhering to the company's Safety, Health, Environmental, and Fire (SHEF) policies.
• Liaise with Production Engineers to ensure maximum productivity.
• Perform other duties as required, commensurate with the nature and level of the post.

• Proven experience in setting and running Manual Lathes.
• Demonstrable ability to work calmly under pressure and maintain a positive, can-do attitude.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Committed to meeting deadlines and achieving satisfactory conclusions to tasks.
• High level of attention to detail and a strong desire to progress and succeed.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• PC literate.
