MAT leave 12 month FTC- Financial Controller- Innovative VC Fund

My client is a high performing VC fund which has supported some well known brands to scale. The firm is sector agnostic but has a bias towards tech/SAAS businesses. The head of finance needs support due to a maternity leave so you will need to be available to start within 4 weeks, you must have right to work in the UK.

The business operate a hybrid working policy with 4 days in the office and 1 from home with further flexibility if required.

Job Description - Financial/Management reporting/controller

This is a highly visible role, providing critical support across the group, as well as leading on audits, regulatory submissions, and finance projects. It requires both technical depth and the ability to support more junior members of the team.

Key Responsibilities

• Financial Reporting & Control
• Audit & Regulatory Compliance/reporting
• Business Partnering including FP&A/Management reporting & Projects
• Team Contribution providing cover and cross-support where needed.

Skills & Experience

• Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) with 5-15 years PQE.
• Demonstrable experience working in small/lean finance teams, comfortable being both strategic and hands-on.
• Strong technical knowledge across financial reporting, audit, and regulatory frameworks.
• Excellent stakeholder management skills; able to work confidently with senior leadership and external advisors.
• Strong Excel and systems knowledge; experience with automation and financial modelling is a plus.
• Industry experience in VC/PE, asset management, or professional services is highly desirable.
