About the Role:
Search Consultancy is working in partnership with a National Contractor who successfully manages construction projects for both the private and public sectors. With a new project awarded in Newcastle, they are seeking an experienced Mechanical Fitter to join their construction team and be based across multiple sites for the full duration of the scheme.
As a Mechanical Fitter, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing mechanical systems and equipment on-site, ensuring everything is functioning correctly and adhering to all relevant health and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:
* Installing mechanical systems: Assemble, install, and fit mechanical components such as pumps, valves, motors, and conveyors.
* Maintenance and repairs: Perform routine maintenance and repairs on mechanical systems to ensure maximum performance and efficiency.
* Troubleshooting: Diagnose mechanical faults and repair or replace damaged parts.
* System testing: Test and inspect mechanical systems to ensure they are working to specifications.
* Safety and compliance: Ensure that all mechanical fitting work is completed in accordance with health and safety regulations.
* Tool and equipment use: Operate various mechanical tools and equipment safely and effectively.
* Collaboration: Work closely with other tradespeople and project teams to ensure smooth progress of the construction projects.

What We Are Looking For:
* Proven experience as a Mechanical Fitter in a construction or industrial environment.
* Relevant mechanical fitting qualifications (NVQ, City & Guilds, or equivalent).
* Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.________________________________________
