MOT Tester

We are seeking a skilled and qualified MOT Tester to join our busy fleet maintenance team. Working within our fully equipped council workshop, you will be responsible for conducting MOT tests and ensuring a high standard of vehicle roadworthiness and compliance in line with DVSA regulations.

This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to the maintenance of a safe and reliable fleet that directly supports services across the city.

Key Responsibilities:

• Carry out MOT tests (Class 4 and 7) on a variety of council and public vehicles, in accordance with DVSA standards
• Ensure all documentation is accurately completed and updated
• Perform safety inspections, diagnostics, and minor repairs as needed
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment in line with health and safety regulations
• Assist with the upkeep and compliance of workshop equipment
• Liaise professionally with colleagues, service users, and external partners
• Support the wider fleet maintenance team when required

The hourly pay rate for this role is £18.10 Ltd (PAYE equivalent £15.53 Inclusive of holiday).

Requirements:

• Valid DVSA MOT Tester Certificate (Classes 4 and/or 7)
• Level 3 NVQ or equivalent in Vehicle Maintenance & Repair (or time-served experience)
• Demonstrable experience in MOT testing and vehicle inspections
• Knowledge of DVSA guidelines and vehicle compliance standards
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to safety
