We are a specialist SEN school located in the Orpington area, dedicated to supporting children and young people with SEMH needs and complex behavioural challenges. Our nurturing and structured environment helps pupils thrive both academically and emotionally.

The Role:

We are seeking a dynamic and empathetic Music Teacher to join our team. This role is available on a full-time or part-time basis during school working hours (term-time only). You will deliver engaging and therapeutic music lessons tailored to the individual needs of our pupils, helping them express themselves and build confidence through music.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and deliver creative music lessons adapted to a range of learning needs and abilities.
• Use music as a tool for emotional regulation, communication, and self-expression.
• Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, therapists, and other staff.
• Manage classroom behaviour effectively, using positive behaviour support strategies.

Requirements:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or significant experience as a Music Teacher.
• Proven experience working with children with SEMH and/or challenging behaviour.
• A clear Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (essential).
• Strong classroom management skills and a nurturing, patient approach.
