Non-Medical Prescriber

Teqniq is searching for a Non-Medical Prescriber to work in the public sector.

37 hours per week.

3 months contract.

09:00-17:00

Job Description:

• Developing strength-based, safe prescribing plans for substance use treatment;

• Being accountable for own prescribing practice and seeking advice when outside of competency/knowledge;

• Ensuring medicine optimisation and cost effectiveness of prescribing practice;

• Ensuring the safe assessment and management of medically assisted community alcohol detoxes in line with policy;

• Contributing to accurate, person-centered and individualised risk assessments and risk management plans that safeguard service users, staff and others;

• Ensuring that prescribing plans are reviewed with the service user and Recovery Worker in line with organisational policy;

• Taking swift action in response to changes in service user's circumstances to proactively support engagement/reengagement with prescribing;

• Delivery of specific clinical procedures and tasks within my level of training and competency;

• Contributing to and where appropriate, chairing, multidisciplinary team meetings/complex case reviews;

• Supporting the training and continuous professional development of colleagues within my service;

• Targeting clinical and harm reduction interventions to support in the achievement of clinical key performance indicators;

• Taking responsibility for your own continuous professional development;

• Actively engaging in clinical supervision processes to support learning and development.

Requirements:

Essential

• Registered Nurse/Pharmacist qualification;

• NMP qualification level 6 or 7 (if pharmacist);

• Demonstrable understanding of the substance use sector and health issues relating to substance use (including mental health);

Desirable

• Experience of clinical leadership, clinical supervision and student mentorship;

• Experience prescribing within substance use;

• Advanced knowledge of clinical treatment in substance use;
