Job Description - Nursery Teaching Assistant

Level 2 Teaching Assistant - City Centre, Liverpool

Start Date: September 2025
Contract: Full-Time
Salary: £24,790 - £25,183
Location: Huyton, Knowsley

The staff and Governors of a vibrant, city centre-based primary school are seeking to appoint an inspirational, enthusiastic, and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join their Nursery team.

This is a full-time role for the 2025-2026 academic year, and a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Early Years LSA to become part of a dynamic, forward-thinking school community.

The Senior Leadership Team is looking for someone who shares their vision and passion for early education, and who is committed to building on the school's strong foundation and ongoing success.

We are excited to hear from candidates who:

  • Have a strong understanding and experience of the EYFS curriculum
  • Believe that every child is capable of achieving great things and are committed to making that possible
  • Are eager to contribute fully to the life and community of the school
  • Can build positive, trusting relationships with children and their families
  • Thrive as part of a dedicated, caring, and collaborative team
  • Possess excellent communication skills
  • Act as a positive role model, promoting and reinforcing positive behaviour strategies
  • Are adaptable and approach the changing demands of a school day with flexibility and a cheerful attitude
  • Demonstrate a strong work ethic and a proactive, solution-focused approach
  • Are committed to upholding the school's core values, nurturing ethos, and behaviour policy
  • Have a genuine passion for nurturing children, ensuring they feel safe, supported, and play an active role in school life

The advertised post for a Teaching Assistant is a key appointment that will contribute significantly to the ongoing success of this dedicated and nurturing school team. The school's aim is to find the right individual to become part of its warm and welcoming community and to continue the excellent work already underway in their Nursery provision.

This role involves a combination of whole-class support, targeted small group work, and 1:1 supervision to deliver high-quality early years education. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in shaping a positive and enriching start to children's educational journeys.

The post will begin in September 2025 and is offered on a fixed-term basis for one academic year, subject to funding.

Safeguarding Commitment:

The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. All appointments are subject to Enhanced DBS clearance, satisfactory references, eligibility to work in the UK, and an online search in line with the Keeping Children Safe in Education (2022) statutory guidance.
