Occupational Therapist Assistant

We are seeking an Occupational Therapy Assistant to support the delivery of statutory services to residents meeting the eligibility criteria of the Care Act 2014. This role involves supporting assessments, managing equipment resources, and optimising the independence of residents, particularly to enable them to remain or return to their own homes after hospital admissions.

• Manage an allocated workload of residents in various settings, including their homes or hospitals, working in partnership with them, their families, carers, and multidisciplinary teams.
• Undertake functional assessments and reviews, recognising and prescribing prevention advice/equipment under supervision.
• Liaise with social work and hospital colleagues to facilitate the implementation of support interventions.
• Maximise resident engagement in the assessment and intervention process while ensuring appropriate safeguards against risk.
• Manage the Peripheral equipment stores and monthly support meetings for OTAs across RBWM.

• Experience working with people, preferably those with vulnerabilities.
• Good IT skills and experience using Microsoft Office.
• Basic awareness of relevant legislation and the ability to problem solve.
• Must hold a valid UK driving license and have access to your own vehicle for business use.
