Are you a caring and committed individual with experience supporting children with complex needs? We are currently recruiting on behalf of a respected special educational needs setting for a dedicated One-to-One Teaching Assistant to support a KS1 pupil with complex needs and severe visual impairment.
This is a unique opportunity to work across home, community, and school settings, delivering truly personalised learning in line with the child's bespoke educational package.
The Role: This role involves delivering one-to-one educational and developmental support to a highly engaging and inspirational young pupil. You'll work closely with the child's family, education team, and a network of multidisciplinary professionals to ensure that their Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) targets are met and progress is monitored consistently.
You'll also provide classroom support in a Key Stage 1 PMLD class when required.
Key Responsibilities: - Support delivery of personalised learning activities and monitor progress in line with EHCP targets - Collaborate effectively with the child's family and professional support network - Participate in planning meetings, reviews and multi-agency updates - Maintain high-quality records and contribute to communication across the child's care team - Adapt activities with creativity and flexibility to meet the child's evolving needs
Essential Skills & Qualities: - Experience supporting children with visual impairment and complex needs (desirable but not essential - training provided) - A calm, sensitive, and gentle approach to working with vulnerable children - Confidence in IT and record-keeping, with excellent attention to detail - A solution-focused mindset - able to think creatively and adapt activities accordingly - Strong interpersonal skills to build trusted relationships with families and colleagues - A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel between home, school, and community sites
Working Hours: Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday: 8:50am - 3:40pm Tuesday: 8:50am - 4:40pm Total hours negotiable up to 32.5 hours per week
