Job Description - Operations Support Officer

Operations Support Officer

  • Location: Barnsley, S70
  • Job Type: Temporary, Full-time
  • Salary: £13.26 PAYE per hour / £16.05 Umbrella

We are currently seeking an Operations Support Officer to join our team on a temporary basis. This role is integral to assisting our Operations Managers in delivering projects that meet budget, time, and quality targets. The position is primarily office-based in Barnsley, with some opportunities for home working.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Process timesheets and allocate work orders efficiently.
  • Order materials necessary for project execution.
  • Assist Operations Managers in ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
  • Perform general administrative and clerical duties including inputting timesheets, ordering materials, and processing work instructions to contractors.
  • Support the function of the Operations Section to meet client requirements and contribute to the overall objectives of Construction Services at Berneslai Homes.
  • Ensure the Operations Section provides a highly efficient, economic, safe, customer-focused, and high-quality service to all clients.
  • Work closely with Operations Managers to deliver service improvements within Construction Services.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • NVQ level 3 or equivalent, or substantial relevant experience in a similar role.
  • Experience in Construction, Engineering, Maintenance, or Manufacturing environments.
  • Proven ability to provide technical support to operational management.
  • Strong understanding of procedures used to improve service delivery.
  • Proficient in IT systems, particularly Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office packages.
  • Experience with local authority systems is advantageous but not essential.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to develop good working relationships with both external and internal customers.
