Job Type: Part-time (0.2 – 0.6 FTE) Until August 2025

Location: Across Devon and Cornwall

Salary: £21,731 - £33,902 (FTE)

Reed Education is working in partnership to seek an Outdoor Learning Development Coach to manage and effectively deliver primary school outdoor learning, outdoor events, and the development of the outdoor programme. This role involves maintaining key relationships with primary school headteachers, teachers, community groups, and various partnerships.

Job Purpose

• Manage and effectively deliver primary school Outdoor Learning and outdoor events.
• Develop the Outdoor programme by maintaining key relationships with:
  
  • Primary School Headteachers and teachers
  • Community staff and governors, parents, community groups, and voluntary sector agencies
  • Sports Partnership and the MAT
  • Forest School Association
  • Members of the public

Duties and Responsibilities

• Administer high-quality Outdoor Learning coaching for 4 - 11 year olds across the Partnership.
• Deliver outdoor events working both in and outside core curriculum time across the Partnership.
• Support in the development and delivery of the outdoor programme.
• Mentor new coaches and outdoor apprentices.
• Manage delivery of curriculum and extracurricular activity working across the Partnership.
• Organise events and provide coaching opportunities.
• Liaise with Partnership staff and the relevant Outdoor Associations Development Officer(s).
• Identify the needs of individual groups.
• Work closely with the partnership to coordinate outdoor competition and festival opportunities.
• Provide practical assistance to young leaders, other coaches, and volunteers in a mentor role.
• Support in the recruitment, mentoring, and training of coaches for the partnership.
• Promote and publicise all programmes and grow and develop the outdoor programme.
• Support the partnership lead in the development and management of Outdoor Sites.

Trust Responsibilities

• Prepare and contribute to Trust-wide development by sharing best practice and professional feedback.
• Assist with the production and analysis of regular reports on activity for use at management meetings.
• Maintain designated databases/files in accordance with Trust policies for data governance.
• Comply with and promote all Trust policies, including Safeguarding, Health and Safety, and Equality & Diversity.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in organising/leading programmes of activity and delivery on school and community sites.
• Level 3 Forest Schools qualification or equivalent outdoor learning qualification.
• Good understanding of sports equity issues and the education sector.
• Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills.
• Ability to work unsociable hours and hold a clean driving licence.
