Location: Quorn, Leicestershire (LE12)
Hours: Monday to Thursday, 8:15am - 4:30pm; Friday, 8:15am - 3:15pm (term time only)
Pay: Competitive, based on experience and qualifications
Start Date: 26th August 2025 (Interviews ASAP)
Contract: Full-time, long term to permanent

Are you passionate about the outdoors and committed to making a difference in young people's lives? We are looking for an enthusiastic Outdoor Learning Instructor to join a specialist SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) school in Quorn, supporting students aged 6-17 with additional needs, including autism and ADHD.

This is an exciting opportunity to deliver engaging outdoor learning experiences while coordinating the Duke of Edinburgh Award programme for pupils, helping them develop confidence, life skills and resilience in a supportive environment.

Your Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and deliver a variety of outdoor learning activities and Forest School sessions.
• Lead and manage all aspects of the Duke of Edinburgh Award, including leading and supervising expeditions.
• Encourage environmental awareness and responsible outdoor practices.
• Ensure the safety and wellbeing of pupils during outdoor activities by following risk assessments and adapting activities as needed.
• Work closely with teaching and therapeutic staff to align outdoor learning with individual student goals.
• Maintain and manage outdoor learning and DofE equipment.
• Contribute to the wider school community by participating in meetings, training and extra-curricular activities.

What We're Looking For:

• Duke of Edinburgh leader qualifications
• Proven experience of leading and managing the Duke of Edinburgh Award scheme
• Experience working with young people, ideally those with SEMH needs and autism
• A passion for outdoor education with excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Ability to build positive relationships with students and support their personal development.
