Painter and Decorator

Our client is a large local government organisation and looking for an experienced Painter and Decorator to join their team. This is initially a 3 month contract which may be extended for the right candidate

You will

Responsible for providing quality painting & decorating work as required within the maintenance team. Provide good customer service in order to meet the businesses Key Performance Indicators

Key Accountabilities

To be able to carry out painting & decorating work to a good standard, and to include but not limited to:

• Artexing
• Coving
• Remove and refit fixtures and fittings
• Make good tiling
• General Preparation work, filling
• Wallpapering
• General Painting
• Glosswork/Staining
• To undertake on site risk assessments and identify any potential hazards and inform your line manager if required.

Expertise

• Painting & Decorating Qualification NVQ or equivalent or demonstrate previous significant experience in painting & decorating.
• Ability to work within manufacturers requirements and Industry British Standards.
• Ability to diagnose and undertake repair works to domestic properties including specifying materials required and the ability to undertake works in accordance with training and good industry practice.
• Work within known deadlines
• Competent in the use of smart phone technology and PDAs, including the ability to send and receive email, calendar appointments, documents, photographs and for work scheduling purposes.
