Job Description - Parent and Family Worker - Neurodevelopmental Support Team - West Bridgford

Parent and Family Worker - Neurodevelopmental Support Team
West Bridgford, Nottinghamshire
15/06/2025 – 3 month initially
Monday to Friday, 8.30am – 5pm, 37 hrs/week - There is some room for hybrid working in this role although it will also include time in the office and in the community seeing families for assessments
  • Undertaking assessments for young people who may display behaviours indicative of autism or ADHD
  • Referrals received from professionals such as schools, health visitors
  • Carry out observations of children in different settings such as the family home or an education setting
  • Assess and identify children who require onward referral for specialist assessment by Community Paediatricians
  • Assess their support needs and draw up, implement and review support plans
  • Liase with a variety of professionals and agencies to ensure all relevant information is included in the assessment prior to referral to Community Paediatricians
  • Plan and deliver structured packages graduated parenting interventions
  • Work with children, young people and families in settings including the family home, and to transport them when required
  • Keep and maintain accurate records of work
  • Attend team and multi-agency meetings
Requirements
  • UK Driving Licence, access to a vehicle, business insurance
  • Experience and knowledge of neurodiversity, child development and experience of assessment work are required
  • Direct experience working with children, young people and families, undertaking observations and completing assessments
  • Experience supporting children with trauma and attachment
  • Knowledge and understanding of Autism and ADHD
  • DBS registered to the update service
