Job Description - Pastoral Assistant

Location:
Westminster, SW1E (commutable from Hounslow, Ealing, Acton, Chiswick, Brentford, and Hammersmith)
Daily Pay: £100 - £120
Start Date: September 2025
Contract Type: Full-time, long-term

Long Term Futures are proud to be working in partnership with a vibrant and supportive secondary school in West London. The school is seeking a compassionate and proactive Pastoral Assistant to join their team from September. This is a fantastic opportunity for an individual who is passionate about student wellbeing, behaviour management, and helping young people thrive both academically and personally.

About the Role

As a Pastoral Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting the emotional, social, and behavioural needs of students across Key Stages 3 and 4. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing day-to-day pastoral care and guidance to students
  • Supporting behaviour management strategies and fostering positive behaviour
  • Building strong relationships with pupils to help them engage positively in school life
  • Working closely with Heads of Year, SEN staff, and external agencies
  • Helping to monitor and support attendance, punctuality, and wellbeing
  • Assisting with interventions and small group work focusing on social and emotional development

This is an ideal role for someone with experience as a Pastoral Assistant, Teaching Assistant, Behaviour Mentor, or anyone with a background in youth work or education support who is looking to take on a pastoral-focused position.
