Job Description - Payroll Specialist

Role: Payroll Specialist (Unit 4/Agresso)

Location: Peterborough - Hybrid (2 days Tuesday and Thursday on site)

Duration: Interim 6 months

Salary: up to £450p/d UMB rate - dependant on experience

Sellick Partnership are currently recruiting for a Payroll Specialist to join our client based in Peterborough on a 6-month interim contract, working on a hybrid basis.

The duties of the Payroll Specialist include:

  • Acting as an extra resource for the Payroll team supporting them in the final stages of the Unit 4/Agresso system implementation
  • Assisting in the reporting aspect within the system
  • Writing codes for the reporting
  • Ensuring smooth running of all reporting areas within the system
  • Assisting the team in business as usual tasks
  • Supporting the TUPE transfers of employees into the organisation
  • Manual calculations of overpayments, payroll reversal and adjustments
  • Being familiar with the Teachers MCR pension scheme, and LGPS i-connect

The Payroll Specialist ideally should have:

  • Experience within a public sector would be beneficial
  • Understanding and experience of Unit4/Agresso implementation and reporting
  • Experience within a similar role is essential
  • Experience with Unit 4/Agresso is essential

The Payroll Specialist will need to have excellent communication skills and effectively be able to communicate to stakeholders of all levels. Furthermore, the ideal candidate will have an impeccable eye for detail and accuracy to ensure all workload is carried out effectively and efficiently. They will also need to able to prioritise their workload and be efficient and effective to meet unpredictable deadlines and deal with conflicting demands, whilst working in a high-pressured environment.
