HW Finance are currently partnering with a well-established SME based locally to York to recruit a Payroll Specialist on an Interim basis, with the potential view to be made permanent for the successful candidate.
This is a fantastic opportunity to take ownership of the payroll function across the group, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and a smooth experience for employees. You’ll be joining a collaborative finance team and reporting directly to the Group Financial Controller.
The role offers a salary dependent on experience of around £40k - £50k per annum, alongside many benefits including holidays, pension scheme, and ongoing development opportunities.
As Payroll Specialist, you’ll be responsible for managing monthly payrolls (both salaried and hourly), ensuring full compliance with UK payroll legislation and HMRC requirements. You’ll handle PAYE, NIC, pensions, and statutory payments, while also maintaining GDPR-compliant records and liaising with external providers.
You’ll play a key role in year-end reporting, preparing P45s, P60s, and P11Ds, and supporting the wider finance and HR teams with accurate data and reporting.
