Job Description - People Operations Assistant

People Operations Assistant (national Housing Association)
  • Hourly Rate: £17.42
  • Location: London SE1
  • Job Type: Temporary, Hybrid (9-5 Mon to Fri)

We are seeking a People Operations Assistant for an immediate start in an ongoing temporary booking. This role is essential in assisting with the day-to-day transactional processes within People Operations, focusing on establishing and preserving strong relationships with internal colleagues, providing accurate and timely customer service, and resolving People transactions and administration queries within agreed service levels.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Respond to and resolve tier 1 level support queries from all colleagues/stakeholders within the organisation, ensuring high-quality service, accuracy, and professionalism.
  • Effectively use People systems to access relevant data needed to resolve customer issues.
  • Manage the processing and administration of high-volume transactions using People XD.
  • Liaise internally to deliver services that incorporate best practice and innovation.
  • Coach managers and colleagues on the use of intranet People tools and guides, and educate on People XD processes.
  • Ensure accurate entry of new colleague records, transfers, benefits, and changes to existing records on the People system by required deadlines.
  • Collaborate with team members to maintain a customer-centric approach and resolve queries in accordance with operating procedures and service level agreements.
  • Maintain data integrity in People XD and other systems, ensuring adequate controls are in place to reduce errors.
  • Manage document processes within the People Operations Team, ensuring all required documentation is appropriately filed.
  • Support the People Operations Manager in identifying and implementing continuous service improvement initiatives.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Experience in a generalist role within a busy People Department.
  • Good understanding of People processes, best practices, and relevant legislation.
  • High level of confidentiality and attention to detail.
  • Proven time management and prioritisation skills.
  • Ability to deliver excellent customer care and value diversity.
  • Good analytical skills and proficiency in MS Excel and MS Word.
  • Experience in People or L&D administration in a fast-paced environment.
  • Understanding of UK right to work eligibility criteria.
