Job Description - Personal Care Learning Support Assistant

Full-Time SEND LSA with Personal Care – September Start | Loughton

We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Full-Time SEND Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to support learners with learning difficulties, disabilities, and other barriers to learning. This role involves providing vital support within the classroom, promoting independence, and delivering personal care when required.

Key Responsibilities:

Support learners with SEND/EHCPs, helping them to achieve success in their studies.
Assist in the classroom, workshop environments, and on a one-to-one basis, including reading, scribing, IT support, and preparing/adapting learning materials.
Provide personal care support as needed, including assistance with hygiene, mobility, and medication administration.
Escort learners off-site for activities and help with transport duties when required.
Promote a safe and supportive learning environment, ensuring learners' independence and well-being.
Assist in the supervision of learners during exams, breaks, and trips, ensuring their safety and engagement.
Collaborate with teachers and other support staff to monitor learners’ progress and provide regular feedback.

Requirements:

Must hold an up-to-date DBS check (on the Update Service).
Experience working with SEND learners and providing personal care support.
Ability to work collaboratively with teaching staff and contribute to learners' academic and social progress.
Flexibility to support learners outside of scheduled hours as needed.
Compassionate, patient, and committed to promoting independence for all learners.

Pay:
£15.56 per hour
