Placement Officer Children&8217;s &8211; Grade 7

We're seeking a dedicated Placement Officer to help secure safe, high-quality and cost-effective placements for children and young people in care.

You'll work with social workers, providers and partner agencies to ensure each child's assessed needs are met, while supporting the development of local placement options.

What you'll do:

• Match children and young people with suitable care placements.
• Negotiate contracts and fees with providers to ensure value for money.
• Respond positively and professionally to referrals from Social Workers, ensuring placements meet assessed needs.
• Manage placement systems and support reporting on needs and sufficiency.
• Work closely with providers, health, voluntary and community partners, local councils and the independent sector.
• Ensure health and safety is considered when identifying placements.

What we're looking for:

• Experience in Children's Social Care or equivalent, ideally with children's brokerage experience.
• Strong organisational skills, able to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Good IT ability (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Proven experience of working across complex multi-agency environments.
• Knowledge of safeguarding and local authority services.

Contract Length: 3-6 months (expectation of ongoing extension)
Rate of pay: £22-£30 p/h (Negotiable DOE)
Hours: 37 hours each week - Fulltime.
Start date: ASAP
