About the Role:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join a fantastic primary school located in central Peterborough. This long-term position, facilitated through Reed Education, offers the opportunity for the right candidate to secure a permanent role.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support a Year 5 Pupil with ASD: Assist the pupil throughout the school day with the schoolwork set by the class teacher.
• Behavioural Support: Help manage and support the pupil's behaviour throughout the school day.
• Sensory Room Assistance: Accompany the pupil to the sensory room during periods of stress or anxiety.
• Collaborative Planning: Work closely with the SENCO and class teacher to develop and implement an educational plan that enables the pupil to thrive and reach their educational potential.

Requirements:

• Experience working with children with ASD and other SEN needs.
• Ability to work collaboratively with the SENCO and class teacher.
• Patience, empathy, and a passion for supporting children's educational and emotional development.
• Must have a DBS on the update service or be willing to apply for one.
• Must have a UK address and right to work.
• Must have experience working with KS1/KS2.
• Prior experience working with SEN would be hugely beneficial to the role.
