Rate: Starting from £55 per hour - Negotiable DOE

A London Borough Council are actively seeking a talented and proactive Principal Solicitor to join their Legal Services team. This is a great opportunity to provide expert legal advice across a broad range of property-related matters, including high-value regeneration and development projects. With a flexible working pattern and a supportive team culture, you will play a vital role in helping the Council deliver on its strategic priorities.

Key Responsibilities

• Advising on acquisitions, disposals, leases, easements, and development agreements.
• Take responsibility for drafting, negotiating, and completing a wide range of property-related legal documents.
• Oversee and advise on complex legal transactions, including those involving planning, governance, and social housing.
• Supervise junior staff including Legal Officers and Support Officers.

Key Requirements

• Qualified Solicitor, Barrister, or Fellow of the Institute of Legal Executives.
• Strong knowledge and recent experience in regeneration and property law, including landlord and tenant matters.
• Experience working within or advising a local authority.
• Ability to work independently and manage a varied caseload.
